Alexa Green

“Petite and precocious, with sort of a Mae West-ish-ness about her, her voice was just totally unique and she totally delighted us...She immediately commanded the crowd with a presence and dexterity that was totally impressive. One of the best performances I've seen this year ... no question, a star was born”.

About

Alexa Green has become one of the most sought-after new voices and rising stars of this generation. She is best known for her turn as Glinda in the Los Angeles and San Francisco companies of the hit Broadway musical Wicked. She appeared alongside Neil Patrick Harris and Patti LuPone in the international cinematic release of Stephen Sondheim’s Company with The New York Philharmonic live from Lincoln Center. Alexa has toured both nationally and internationally as a singer and actor on national tours and regionally and is passionate about the development of new musical theatre. She has appeared as a guest star with symphonies nationwide and has most recently worked in the studio with 16-time, Grammy Award-winning record producer and songwriter David Foster on his upcoming Broadway projects. She has been featured in the acclaimed concert series Broadway Sings, with Carole King at Avery Fisher Hall, and with Aaron Tveit on his Live Nation concert tour and received critical acclaim for her sold-out solo show, A Shining Hour, at Feinstein’s 54 Below. With much anticipation, Broadway Records recently released Alexa’s debut solo album, So Good, and was nominated among Broadway Legends Idina Menzel, Kristin Chenoweth and Barbara Streisand, winning the 2016 BroadwayWorld award for Best New Solo Recording.

“Alexa Green is an actor and singer of international acclaim and, boy, has she earned it. After a lengthy stint playing Glinda on the West Coast, Ms. Green has been staking a claim on the concert stage with her big voice (sometimes mind-blowingly big) and playful personality, singing in group shows, but it's time for a full-on Alexa Green show because she has something to say and an individual way of saying it. She never disappoints in a performance and she never lets down a student. That's right, the little Lady with the Big Voice is also an accomplished voice teacher in great demand. Her students swear by her, and a listen of her singing this epic song here will show, once more, that those who teach can also do.”

“I will never forget when Mariah Carey sang "If It's Over" in 1993 during MTV's Unplugged. I thought no one will ever sing this like Mariah. Well, that was until, I heard Alexa Green sing it. Alexa's version is so powerful. It's so strong, she probably belted the roof off that recording studio. I easily thought to myself, "Mariah who?”
